The African Falcon Network (AFN) on 6th September 2019 issued a statement to call on all South Africans to uplift the spirit of "Ubuntu" in response to the recent barbaric xenophobic attacks in South Africa against fellow African brothers and sisters from other African countries.
We, the members of the African Falcon Network (AFN), a Pan African regional network of the International Falcon Movement-Socialist Educational International (IFM-SEI) condemn the recent barbaric xenophobic attacks in South Africa against fellow African brothers and sisters from other African countries.
The AFN which is a Pan African regional body of the International Falcon Movement-Socialist Education International (IFM-SEI) believes that Ubuntu is the foundation upon which the founding Fathers and Mothers of Africa’s liberation fought for with their blood, sweat and death, the ideal that from the North, South, East, West, central and diaspora, all people of African descent can freely call Africa their home.
FULL TEXT
We equally draw attention to the increasing violence against women in South Africa. The African Falcon Network urges the leadership of South Africa to take immediate action that will put a final stop to this increasing violence against immigrants from other African countries while putting in place strategic measures that will end the systemic inequality in the South African context that has degenerated to this unthinkable injustice against humanity.
The African Falcon Network (AFN) offers its deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the violent xenophobic crisis in South Africa on September 4th, 2019 and calls on the competent authorities to ensure that arrests and other legal measures are put in place to deter these occurrences. In the spirit of Ubuntu, we call on our brothers and sisters from other African countries to resist the temptation to attack and take revenge on innocent South African nationals, businesses and investments in other African countries.
The African Falcon Network acknowledge systemic inequality, polarized political views and leadership gaps that have failed to prevent this injustice from reoccurring. In respect of the African Charter on Human and People’s rights, we call upon the government of South Africa to put in place stringent measures that will deter any further human right violations of African nationals in South Africa.
We call on all South Africans to uplift the spirit of ‘ubuntu’ which is the foundation upon which the founding fathers and mothers of Africa’s liberation fought for with their blood, sweat and death. The ideal that from the North, South, East, West, central and diaspora, all people of African descent can freely call Africa their home.
