Medical Reformist & 2030 Youth Alliance Host Youth SDGs Policy Roundtable in Cuba

The Medical Reformist , an organization of young African medical professionals on the island of Cuba collaborated with the 2030 Youth Alliance and the Secretariat of the African Youth SDGs Summit to host the Youth SDG Policy Roundtable. The event took place on Monday, 15th April 2019 at the Julio Antonio International Camp in Artemisa, Cuba and brought together over 138 participants from 27 countries. Cuba is a home to many international students in various fields of study, where youth-led initiatives and Youth leadership are a priority for integral social development. African Youth Propose the Creation of "African Youth SDGs Fund"

In September 2017 the United Nations celebrated two years of the SDGs and since the adoption of a global agenda of this nature, there have been a lot of movements around the Goals as well as awareness creation. If you look at how ambitious the Goals are, it becomes very clear that there are more to be done at all levels and such responsibility is a collective one. In fact, the SDGs has a principle of leaving no one behind with much emphasis on persons living with disability, young people and women. Again, there is a growing global interest in enabling youth participation in decision-making at all levels. According to the African Youth Decade Plan of Action, May 2011, over 60% of Africa's population are young men and women under the age 35. Ghana`s Finance Minister calls for Investment in African Youth

Ghana’s Minister for Finance Hon Ken Ofori Attah had made an unannounced call at the 2nd African Youth SDGs Summit taking the opportunity to address the over 1400 youths present at the summit stating how much of an honor it was to be at the summit. The minister commended Emmanuel Ametepey , the Convener of the summit and the 2030 Youth Alliance for demonstrating commitment to mobilize the active participation of the youth in the SDGs implementation. He was of the view that Africa is projected to have a quarter of the global population by 2050 and 35-40% of that would be an active youth population. African Youth: Powering The Sustainable Development Goals

In the lead up to the African Regional Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be held in Morocco in April 2019, Restless Development, the 2030 Youth Alliance, Youth Advocates Ghana, Library and You, YouthHubAfrica, End Water Poverty Coalition and African Monitor held a webinar on the theme “African Youth: Powering the Sustainable Development Goals”. Emmanuel Clifford Gyetuah Participated in the Building Bridges Toolkit Development Workshop in Medan, Indonesia

Emmanuel Clifford Gyetuah participated in the Building Bridges Toolkit Development Workshop on Peace Education and Dialogue which took place in Medan, Indonesia from 14th to 21st April 2019. Building Bridges is a Global project with the aim of promoting peace education and dialogue through youth work in developing countries and in Europe by initiating a cross continental approach. The project is Coordinated by International Falcon Movement - Socialist Educational International & Elix with Youth Advocates Ghana-YAG as one of the 6 global implementing partners with Co -Funding from the European Commission 's Erasmus+ Program .
